Heritage Lens project arises from the need to address the accelerated threats that climate change poses to European cultural heritage. As climate change continues to manifest in unprecedented ways, heritage faces existencial risk that affect the identity and social cohesion of European societies.
The project promotes cross-collaboration between emerging photographers, cultural heritage experts, and environmental activists, fostering a holistic understanding of the challenges and solutions associated with climate change and cultural heritage resilience. Cultural and artistic expressions, especially through photography, offer an unique opportunity to bridge the gap between awareness and action.
The collaboration of photography centers from Italy, Latvia, Poland, and Spain combines diverse perspectives and resources, creating a transnational initiative that transcends borders and fosters a collective response to a shared challenge. Efforts will be combined with other partners from several countries, including environmental and cultural organizations, to expand the project’s reach and maximize its potential.
